Preparation for WorldSkills Africa Competition

Best performers at National Skills Competitions in April 2021 will be prepared, in partnership with private sector, to participate in WorldSkills Africa in Namibia. This will include empowering and inspiring African youth to pursue personal and economic fulfilment through the power of skills. Working with the African Union and WorldSkills Namibia, capacity building programmes will be offered to the trainers of the participating countries, who will be equipped with knowledge and tools for conducting a high-quality skills competition and improving their trainings for their students.

National Experts will commit to working together with the WorldSkills International Experts for at least three cycles of WorldSkills Africa series, which takes place every two years, in order to be recognized as WorldSkills Africa Experts.
Skills
The capacity building programmes and skills competition will feature a maximum of 15 official skills. These include: Automobile Technology; Bricklaying; Electrical Installation; Joinery/cabinet making; Plumbing and Heating; Refrigeration and Air Conditioning; Wall and Floor Tiling; Water Technology; Cooking; Hairdressing; Restaurant Service; Mechatronics; Welding; Mechanical Engineering CAD; Fashion Technology and Digital Challenge
